So I cannot find the old documentation that laid out the top level structure for the ADK mappings XML file. I finally want to add another <mappings id="2.0r1"> ... </mappings> element and I cannot remember what element wraps the mappings element at the root. I read a little on how the mappings features & functions were improved with the 2.0 ADK. It all seems like a natural progression, but I still like the old idea of being able to update an XML file on the customer's machine and have their agent modify it's behavior soon after.

This may be the document you are looking for. You can create multiple <mappings id="XYZ"></mappings> nodes directly under the <agent> node in an ADK config file
